I am a 2005 graduate of Monroe Community College, in Rochester NY, with an A.A.S. in Dental Hygiene. Maintaining a genuine relationship with my professors I was asked to return every year to participate in the mock dental hygiene board exam as an examiner. The opportunity to contribute to the learning experience of future hygienists was extremely exciting.
In 2015 I graduated from Farmingdale State College in Long Island, NY, with my Bachelors in the Science of Dental Hygiene. With a minor in education I graduated with honors on the Deans List.
After practicing dental hygiene in private practice for nine years my husband and I decided to move our 4 year old twin boys to the Greenville SC area. In Greenville I practiced in corporate dentistry and gained fundamental knowledge of the business side of dentistry. Next, I moved into the educational side of hygiene using my degree to contribute to the development of aspiring hygienists. I took a position at the local college as a dental hygiene clinic instructor and clinic coordinator. I was able to teach and influence while maintaining the function of a 43 operatory clinic. I was the OSHA, EPA, Risk Management team member, Hazard Communications contact for clinic, assistant to Rad Safety officer, HIPAA and dental software trainer. I developed front desk business procedures and policies, maintained clinic equipment, managed inventory, accounting, and purchasing.
Now, I’ve been “called” to do more. I needed to create a role in the upstate’s dental community that allowed me to contribute like never before. I started a dental temping referral service in Greenville and the surrounding area’s. I provide pre-screened licensed dental hygienists and certified dental assistants that have all the required state training and documentation.
